directions

  • bring all ingrediants to a boil except the ice water cool and place turkey in water pour ice water over turkey and allow to sit overnight.
  • remove turkey from water and roast as normal.

  1. Did you forget to list salt? It is not really a "brine" unless there is salt. Brine recipes usually call for anything from 1/4 to a full cup of salt depending on how much liquid is called for.
     
  2. I brined my turkey last year with another recipe and it added much more flavor. I found this to be too mild.
     
  3. This was GREAT! Turkey is not one of my favorite meals, but done this way. Wow! (even without the salt.)

I live in california. I have three kids which are all grown now, My grandson is 7years old and the love of my life. Was a stay at home mom until my husband passed away a few years ago. Enjoy crafts, sewing (which i don't do much of anymore),and cooking. Just started to put together a family cookbook, with long time favorites from over the years. Plus I always enjoy trying new recipes. new passions are sourdough and salsas. We have a garden each year that keeps me in fresh veges for most of the summer,GREAT.
