  • Brown turkey in a nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Drain off liquid.
  • Add peppers and onion and cook until tender, about 3 minutes.
  • Add barbecue sauce and cayenne pepper; heat thoroughly, stirring frequently, about 2 minutes.
  • Top bottom half of buns with turkey mixture; cover with top half of bun and serve.

  1. Great weeknight meal! My turkey came in a 1.25 package. I used it and used a little more bbq sauce and water. I didn't have cayenne pepper so I used 1/2 tsp. of cajun seasoning. Thanks for the healthy & tastey recipe!

  3. I love this recipe!!! The taste was wonderful. The only things I did different was to add salt and pepper to the turkey for seasoning and then I left out the cayenne pepper. This is a keeper for sure!
     
  4. This is really a great dish! DH gave it a BIG thumbs up. (he didn't even know that it had ground turkey in it)I used Stubbs Barbecue sauce (very low in sugar) Over all a wonderful lower fat sloppy joe recipe. I'm keeping this one! It made so much that we served it on top of both buns, split. This could easyly serve 8. I served recipe #12452 Sweet Potato Wedges with it. Thanks CookbookCarrie for posting.
     
  5. We made this for supper last night, and it was loved by all!! Even DH loved it.... and he knew it was a WW recipe!!! That is saying a lot. We will be making this often for sure. Made exactly as directed.
