Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 (18 ounce) box German chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 13 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 13 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
  • 1 (14 ounce) package caramels
  • 12 cup butter
  • 1 (5 1/3 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Mix cake according to package directions.
  2. Pour half of batter into prepared 13 x 9 inch pan.
  3. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. In saucepan, melt caramels with butter and milk; mix well.
  5. Pour over cake.
  6. Sprinkle pecans and chocolate chips over caramel layer.
  7. Cover with rest of batter and bake 15-20 minutes longer at 350 degrees.
