  1. I'm in agreement with the other reviews, this recipe needs a massage. Here's what I found works for me- Add a couple of Flax Meal Eggs to bind the loaf/dry ingredients. Use a lot more hot water to soak the loaf than 3/4C. Make sure it is moist. It can't be dry. Cover that while it hydrates 30-45 minutes. After the hydration, you can taste test a bite to make sure the bulgar is soft. When done Preheat the oven. Fold into the loaf some ketchup and Worcestershire sauce to your liking. Cooking time is only about 45 minutes. Watch the ketchup so not to burn. This turned out well for me, good luck!

  2. I added a extra cup of water, 3eggs lightly beaten, and I covered it with foil. My family loved it and I will be making it again

  3. Ingredients are off for sure. Made it once as per recipe but adding a little extra water. Still turned out very dry and hard. Also added eggs to hold it together. I am going to give it another shot but this time am going to cook the bulgar wheat first. I think that will fix most of the problem I had. This recipe does have the potential for 5 stars I think, if I can only tweak it until it comes out right.

  4. I think the amounts in this recipe are off. For the amount of TVP and bulgur in this recipe I think you need a lot more liquid than 3/4 c. Maybe the ketchup should be mixed in and not just brushed on top? You also need something to hold it together. In any case, this came out really really dry and crumbly. Threw it out.

  5. I really didn't enjoy this. Has an unpleasant scent, texture, and taste to me. Your mileage may vary.

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I have always enjoyed cooking and looking for recipes. I have to admit though, until I joined Weight Watchers four years ago I never did much cooking. Since then it has became vital to do my own cooking and I find I am really good at it. I really enjoy trying new ingredients like Quinoa, Millet, Porktenderloin, hoisin sauce, beans, Textured Vegetable Protein among many other new ingredients. My family has started thinking I am a little weird with all the unusual ingredients I have in my pantry. My passions are my 3 nephews, Matthew, Lucas and Charles and my 8 parrots, Guy, Pete, Toby, Daisy, Zeke, Ernie, Max and Lu. They keep me positive when life takes a nose dive.
