Twisted Bacon

"This technique is fun to get the kids involved. This gives the bacon a slightly different texture, crisp yet chewy. For a little added smokiness and heat do try this method with Recipe #107440. Easy clean up!!!!!! ;)"

  1. Here is another idea for some great bacon. Cook the bacon in apricot or peach jam It is best if it is pureed but fine just out of the jar. add a splash of brandy (op.) and it is pure heaven. I also like my bacon on biscuits with butter and honey. : )

  2. I thought this was yummy! DH and DS didn't care for it, but they don't care for "sweet" meat flavorings. Too bad for them! I got to eat it all myself! And I love cooking bacon in the oven cuz I hate the mess it makes on the stove.

  3. Wonderful presentation for bacon - looked like little twigs on the plate!! Flavour was really good, although I probably used about 6-8 tsp of brown sugar, & the twisting gave it a chewier, crispier texture. It was very easy to twist the bacon & it stayed that way on the pan.

  4. The recipe says 6-8 servings — that is, unless my DGS is there. If he is, this recipe will make ONE SERVING!!!!!

  5. Fun, yummy "twist" to the already delicous breakfast side kick bacon! We already love your Recipe #107440 so I decided to see what "twisting" the bacon would do for the texture. I used a premium bacon ( not thick sliced however) and one end was thicker than the other and would not twist as well. Next time, I will try this with a store brand bacon that I know is thinner and see if it will twist better. I did sprinkle it with the black pepper, brown sugar and also added a little pinch of cayenne. Loved that little touch of heat with the sweetness of the sugar! I will be making this again when my BF's little nephew comes to visit... I am sure he will love helping make all of us breakfast!
