  • Grind all of the fruits and nuts in the food processor. Add the honey and mix thoroughly.
  • Shape the mixture into small balls and roll the balls in the confectioners' sugar.
  • Alternatively, line a pan 8 inches square with wax paper or parchment paper. Pack the fruit and nut mixture firmly into the pan to a depth of about 3/4 inch. Melt the chocolate over warm water, and cover the mixture with the melted chocolate. Let it harden, then cut the candy into 1-inch squares.

  1. What a great recipe--it's the perfect guilt-free alternative to chocolate truffles!! The prunes, dates, raisins, and walnuts create a rich, decadent candy with a wonderful flavor and texture! I scaled the recipe down to 1/8 pound (to test it--and because we don't have a food mill...so I had to chop everything by hand) and that made 9 small candy balls. The fruit/nut mixture was easy to work, held together very well, and adhered nicely to the sugar coating (I used regular white sugar because we didn't have any confectioner's sugar). I look forward to making this candy during the winter holidays! Thank you, Olga Drozd, for a wonderful recipe!!
