Directions

  1. Combine shortening, 1/2 cup brown sugar, white sugar, egg yolks, flour, water, vanilla, and baking soda.
  2. Pat into 9 x 13 inch pan.
  3. Spread chocolate chips over it.
  4. Beat egg white until stiff.
  5. Gradually add 3/4 cup brown sugar.
  6. Spread over chips.
  7. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
