  1. Sad as it may be - I love SOS!!!

  2. The besty breakfast in the Marine Corps. 2 Fried eggs, fried potato’s, (HASH BROWNS) , SMOTHERED IN S.O.S. , Grits, with bacon and then everything slathered with Crystal Hot Sauce! A side of Toast with jelly and. Big glass of O.J.! If you ate this you were set for at least a day or two of heavy humping!

  3. I introduced my ex-wife and 4 kids to this dish, my oldest is 21, youngest is 10. She called me after the divorce asking for the recipe, it's just that good. I always loved going to breakfast, they served Sh*t On a Shingle almost everday! Been cooking this since 1995 when I got out, only difference, I add cayenne to taste considering I am from New Orleans. Cayenne goes on everything I eat.

  4. Anyone with any military past will remember this recipe. I ask my dh who is retired about this and he just told me Yep! the is the recipe they use. He was a cook in the Army for 6 yrs. It didn't seem like enough milk to me but he told me it sounded ok but when they made it they used Gallons of whole milk instead of evaporated milk and 36 pounds of ground beef. That that forsure is SOS!

  5. Yep, this is the original - tho not what my Navy cook father said the SOS stood for...! Sure tastes good. Was my favorite comfort food as a youngster when he brought it home from the war. thanks for the memories!
