Directions

  1. Set rack to middle position and preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Lightly spray large baking sheet.
  3. Mix first five ingredients.
  4. Over medium heat, combine butter, apple sauce and maple syrup and bring to simmer.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Pour over dry mixture, toss well with hands until thoroughly mixed.
  7. Spread on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake 25 minutes, rotating pan after 10 minutes.
  9. Transfer sheet to cooling rack and cool completely before breaking into small pieces.
  10. Store in airtight container at room temperature.
