“I loved hamburger pizza as a kid. My fiance and I decided to make a vegetarian version last night and were overwhelmingly pleased. We skipped the tomato sauce and used olive oil as an easy "white sauce." Using lactose free cheese is our preference, but it isn't required. The 6-8 ounces of substitute hamburger is approximately one half of the bag. If desired, you can use the whole bag.”

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 6 -8 ounces vegetarian beef substitute
  • 1 (7 ounce) package Veggie Shreds cheese, Cheddar flavor
  • 1 (7 ounce) package Veggie Shreds cheese, Mozzarella flavor
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 roma tomato, diced
  • 1 -3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 Pillsbury refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • dried pizza seasoning

  1. In a large pot or frying pan, saute the hamburger substitute with a small amount of water. Add garlic. Cook thoroughly until no longer frozen, approximately 5-10 minutes. Let cool while preparing the rest of the recipe.
  2. Prepare your dough according to the package instructions. Once rolled, evenly cover the dough with a coat of olive oil, adding more to serve as a thin sauce.
  3. Sprinkle the oiled dough with pizza seasoning. The dough shouldn't be smothered with it, but should be delicately seasoned.
  4. Cover the dough with the "Cheddar" Veggie Shreds and then sprinkle with the hamburger mixture and Roma tomato. Top with the "Mozzarella" Veggie Shreds and sprinkle with pizza seasoning once more.
  5. Bake according to the dough's instructions, approximately 13-20 minutes at 350 degrees, depending on the brand.
  6. Cut and serve!
