ingredients

  • 4 hamburger buns (i use the big italian artisan ones so they fit the big burgers)
  • 4 veggie burgers (yves makes a great one)
  • 4 teaspoons mustard
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 kraft 2% american cheese singles
  • 4 dill pickle slices (each cut in 3 pieces)
  • 6 tablespoons white onions (finely minced, preferably chilled)

directions

  • spread the ketchup on the bottom of the buns, top with onions, then burgers, cheese, pickles, then mustard. for some reason the order of toppings changes the taste.
  • microwave the whole mess until cheese melts and burger is warm. good to take with for lunches.
  • serve with coke and fries for the full experience :P remember when planning servings that most veggie burgers are a healthy size and not the tiny hockey pucks of micky dee's.

  1. This did taste like that old classic. Thanks for sharing the recipe. It was a nice change from usual my usual burger.

  2. It is funny, these do taste like McDonald's, and are good in that weird sort of way. I used more pickles and slices of real cheddar cheese for our tastes.
