  • Heat oil and add onion and garlic; stir fry for one minute.
  • Add the "beef" pieces with the five spice, carrot, peppers, broccoli, sweetcorn, mangetouts and mushrooms. Stir fry for 3 - 4 minutes.
  • Add soy, sherry and bean sprouts and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  • Drizzle over sesame oil and serve with noodles or rice.
  • Examples of beef strips: Tivall brand or Morningstar Farms.

  1. This was delicious. Only change I made was to increase the garlic & sub'd some asparagus for the broccoli. Enjoyed the combination of the other vegys & the flavour of the 5-spice, thanks for sharing.

How I rate... 5 stars - perfect, will make again without any changes. 4 stars - Liked it, will make again again but with changes. 3 stars - had to make major changes but got it to work. 2 stars - had to make major changes and it didn't work. 1 star - went terribly, a waste of time and ingredients, I cried, BF cried the cats cried you get the picture...
