  • 1 cup whipping cream, divided

directions

  • Chill bowl, beaters and cream before whipping. Place 2/3 cup cream and sugar in chilled bowl. Beat with electric mixer at high speed until soft peaks form. Do not overbeat. Cover and refrigerate up to 8 hours. If mixture separates slightly after refrigeration, whisk lightly with wire whisk.
  • To form chocolate shavings for garnish, make short, quick strokes across chocolate with vegetable peeler; set aside. Break remaining chocolate into pieces.
  • Place remaining 1/3 cup cream in heavy small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Add chocolate pieces; cover and remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes or until chocolate is melted; stir until smooth. Add coffee to chocolate mixture. Heat over low heat just until bubbles form around edge of pan and coffee is heated through, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; stir in creme de cacao, if desired. Pour into 4 warm mugs. Top each mug with whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings.

  1. Delicious coffee!! I cut the recipe in half and left out the baileys as it was in the morning, otherwise, followed exactly as written. I think this would be wonderful as a dessert coffee with the added alcohol. Thanks for sharing barefootmommawv. Made for 123 tag.

  2. Wonderful! What a delicious treat this was. I will make this one again. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I made this on Christmas day and it was 5 stared by everyone. I used the Irish Cream (DH's fav coffee additive) and with all else happening today cheated with the canned whipped cream. I ask you, whats not to love about coffee, chocolate and Bailey's? There is no way that you could go wrong. It's perfectly wonderful and I'm delighted that I chose this recipe for Christmas :D.

  4. Yum! I cheated a little and used canned whipped cream to top the coffee with. Left out the booze, loved it!

  5. To cut the fat I made this with just milk rather than cream. Still really tasty & great to unwind on a Friday afternoon. I know it would have been divine with the cream!

I live on a very large farm here in West Virginia. We really do live off the land. I plant a large garden, I freeze, dehyrate and can everything possible. We raise beef cattle and hunt wild game. It's a family thing. I met my husband at work. We got stuck on night shift together and he seemed to grow on me like a wart. We married 5 months after we started dating. We have now been married 11 yrs. He's a great husband and father too our two children. Our oldest is in the 6th grade and youngest is in the 5th grade. We have lived all over the east coast. We spent 5 years in South Carolina. I would have to say it was a great 4 years. I learned so much about that area and experienced alot of different foods while there. I truely miss the people from there. A little about me. I'm a SAHM. Most of my time here alone is spent playing euchre, canning, gardening, cooking (a lot of OAMC), flipping thru my cook books (and i have plenty) and browsing thru Zaar! I just love it here. Trying to add a lot of our family favorites. I enjoy traveling, reading, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, canning, bbq-ing, bon fires, entertaining, baking, playing board and card games with the kids, swimming, photography, and just being with family and friends. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ How I rate: 5 stars ~ perfect, will make again without any changes. 4 stars ~ like it, will make again with minor changes to suit our tastes 3 stars ~ had to make major changes but got it to work for us. 2 stars ~ too many changes needed, waste of my time. 1 star ~ just terrible, couldnt get it to work out. waste of money and time. I think I want to cry now. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Participation.jpg"> <img src ="http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u208/diner_photos/lazymecookathon.jpg"> <img src="http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/flower753/Food/my3chefsnov2008.jpg"> <img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/Game%20Room%20Banners/AM%20Banners/hg-participation.gif" border="0" alt="Hidden-Gems-Event-08"> <img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/123HitAMpage.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/1234HitAMPage_Size1.png"><img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vseward/Bevy/officialmemberofthebevtaggame.jpg"> <a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=274954"><img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c99/ruemke/banners/coupon.jpg"></a><a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/cookbook.php?bookid=220958"><img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vseward/Bevy/beveragetagcookbook1.gif"></a> <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/CookathonforKarensticker.jpg"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/AMpageSticker.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/participation%20banners/coolmonday-particiation2.jpg" border="0" alt="Cookathon for Cool Monday (2)"><img src="http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e347/Saturn6666/Other/tagforpage1.jpg"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/Adopted1smp.jpg"><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/freezer.jpg"><a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=278234"><img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c99/ruemke/banners/beans-1.jpg"></a>
