  1. This cake came out quite well for us. The kids made this at my MIL's house. They added a bit more cocoa, I think 1/4 cup. Also, used butter instead of margarine. They put chocolate chips on top instead of frosting it. They all liked the cake and were impressed with how the vinegar made the soda bubble. Very easy to make. Made and Reviewed for Photo Tag. Thanks! :)

  2. This recipe has been cut in 1/2 to make a smaller cake from the original Wacky Cake recipe. You should use 1 level tsp. of baking soda and 1 c. COLD water. I have been using this recipe for years (full measurements) and it it a favorite for sure! My recipe for Recipe #218589 goes very well with this cake. It is sweet, but not overly sweet, and it is a great frosting for designs. After my cake is frosted, I often take the tip of a rounded knife and press down on the frosting and then pull away and it makes picks all over the top of the cake. Very pretty, especially with chopped nuts, sprinkles, Jimmys, or anything else you might want to add on top.

  3. Needed to bake a cake in a hurry but had no eggs. Fell for this recipe as it looked very easy. And it was. However, the taste and feel of the cake was not up to expectations. Pity. Too "clammy", too dense, hardly any chocolatetaste. These are the comments I got when serving the cake. Like I said, a pity.

I am the mother of two beautiful boys. I love to bake and cook which has helped me to become very overweight. I have lost 50 pounds this past year and have been learning to cook "lighter". We still enjoy many of the same dishes we used to. However, I have learned portion control and how to make suttle changes to my recipes that don't affect the flavor.
