  • In a blender, grind the grains and beans on high for 2 minutes.
  • Pour the powder into a heavy-bottomed pot.
  • Crack open the pineapple can and drain out the juice into a pyrex measuring cup.
  • Add enough water to the juice to make 4 cups liquid, then add to the pot and mix thoroughly.
  • Rinse out the blender, and blend the pineapple slices themselves until completely smooth, add to the pot.
  • Add the sugar and ginger to the pot, mix.
  • Put the pot over high heat until it begins to boil, then lower heat and simmer, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes.
  • Add pureed pumpkin, mixing thoroughly.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate for later.
