- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 pinches salt
- 4 tablespoons butter (not margarine)
- water
directions
- Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, add the salt. Rub the butter through the flour until it resembles bread crumbs.
- Stir in just enough water to make a firm dough.
- Roll out on a lightly floured bench. Cut rounds using a small biscuit cutter.
- Using a floured rolling pin, roll each round into thin ovals.
- Place on to a greased, baking tray and prick them all over with a fork.
- Bake in a 220C oven until puffed and golden.
