  • Cut chicken into cubes.
  • Place chicken, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, garlic and seasonings into 4-quart or larger slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 5 hours.
  • Add peas and rice; cook, uncovered, until peas are tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Yields about 1 1/2 cups per serving.

  1. This is very easy to make. I've seen other recipes for this dish where the rice turns out a little yellower but over all the flavor was good. It's a good weekend easy meal. One thing I noted is that it tastes WAY better on day 2 when the flavors have developed. I will make again.
     
  2. I have been making this for a few years, I use brown rice or sometimes no rice if I am really looking to cut back, but it is wonderful. The taste is amazing, the chicken stays moist, it is so simple to make. It is still good after you re-heat it in the microwave, I would suggest this recipe to anyone
     
  3. Iam sorry, I hate to give bad reviews, but this recipe just didnt work for our tastes. I followed the recipe exactly as stated. It had a strong flavor that was not at all pleasant. I am wondering if it was the taste of the turmeric....Iam not sure, but for us it just wasnt edible.
