Weightlifter's Protein Cookies

"This are the cookies I make for my weightlifting husband. They are very low in fat and full of protein - but although they are tasty enough you wouldn't really want to eat them for fun, they are more like protein bars in a cookie format."

  1. What a great idea. Very easy to follow. Thank you, this is better than buying protein bars all the time. Five stars

  2. These cookies are great for someone who is trying to up their protein intake. I made them last week and stored them in an airtight container for the BF. It was a perfect cookie for him to snack on, since he's not much for sweets--but still convinceable enough to replace some of his protein shakes with. It was definitely a runny batter, but that was alright. They firmed up a little and became thin and chewy in the oven. I wouldn't recommend these for anyone who is not looking for a carb and protein boost--but for those who are, or need a quick fix after the gyn, these are very handy to have around. Thanks Kolibri!

  3. Absolute winner! Perfect for after training! They're not the sweetest tasting cookies, but when you're on a restricted diet, just biting into one of these cookies feels sinful they're so good. Thanks for the recipe :) p.s if mixture is too liquidy either don't add so much water or let it rest for a bit so the oats soak up some of the mixture

  4. I like the idea behind these, but I had to modify my mixture a lot, as it was just a liquidy mess. Almost like soup with oats. I ended up adding some flour and peanut butter, and even more oats. The cookies turned out very thin and spread all over the cookie sheet. Taste is pretty bland, but not so bad. I will likely play with this as I love the idea of protein cookies.
