Batter
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3⁄4 cup butter, melted
- 2⁄3 cup sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup apple, peeled and diced
- 1⁄3 cup sour cream
- 1⁄4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1⁄3 cup raisins

Topping
- 1⁄2 cup applesauce
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
directions
- For the batter, sift dry ingredients together.
- Cream butter and sugar until well-blended.
- Stir in eggs, applesauce, diced apples, sour cream, nuts, and raisins.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Gradually stir in flour mixture to form a smooth batter.
- Pour batter into a greased 9-inch loaf pan.
- For topping, combine all ingredients and spread on top of batter.
- Bake at 375 degrees F. for 50-60 minutes.
- Test doneness by inserting toothpick into the center of bread. If it comes out clean, it's done.

I love collecting recipes and cookbooks, which is funny because I don't do any of the actual cooking in my house, at least not at present. I do come up with ideas for tweaking recipes though and I do occasionally bake.
I love anything to do with arts and crafting. I crochet, knit, draw, paint ceramics, etc. My idea of heaven would be to have my own studio to explore as many mediums and techniques that catch my interest.
