  • For the batter, sift dry ingredients together.
  • Cream butter and sugar until well-blended.
  • Stir in eggs, applesauce, diced apples, sour cream, nuts, and raisins.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Gradually stir in flour mixture to form a smooth batter.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9-inch loaf pan.
  • For topping, combine all ingredients and spread on top of batter.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F. for 50-60 minutes.
  • Test doneness by inserting toothpick into the center of bread. If it comes out clean, it's done.

I love collecting recipes and cookbooks, which is funny because I don't do any of the actual cooking in my house, at least not at present. I do come up with ideas for tweaking recipes though and I do occasionally bake. I love anything to do with arts and crafting. I crochet, knit, draw, paint ceramics, etc. My idea of heaven would be to have my own studio to explore as many mediums and techniques that catch my interest.
