"A nice light, airy bread. Make in a ABM but I just used the dough setting and finished it in the oven."

  1. I made this yesterday evening in my bread machine and we just enjoyed it for breakfast. This was a light, juicy bread which was great. My husband had it with cream cheese and chives but i liked it with butter and slices of cucumber. The wheat germ really makes a difference in all baking, i look forward exploring this wonderful ingrediant! Thank you, you brightened up our day.

  2. What a delicious & healthy loaf! I love the added wheat germ & sesame seeds, it gives it such a unique taste. This bread is really soft and delicious by itself w/ a little butter or as sandwich bread. I like to brush an egg white on top and sprinkle more sesame seeds on top before baking. I also use toasted sesame seeds since this is what I keep on hand. I do find I need to add about 1/4 cup more flour while the dough is kneading. Thanks for posting Chris!

  3. I was going to add my new favorite wheat bread recipe to this site, but found this one - which is nearly identical. I've made this bread 3 times now and have fallen totally in love. The bread rises high, is light and the texture is just ever so slightly dense (all at the same time!) (Sometimes you don't want the 80lb slice of whole wheat bread....) This bread slices perfectly for sandwiches and keeps several days without problem. I make mine in a rectangular bread machine and have found the following adjustments are perfect for me. 3/4 tsp salt, 1 C Water 2 Tbl, 2 tsp yeast, 2 1/2 Tbl oil, 2 1/2 tbl honey 1 Tbl vital wheat gluten. (I add 1 TBL gluten for each C of Wheat Flour in all my bread recipes....) and the balance of ingredients as is. Ever so slight adjustments, but this is what has worked perfect for me 3 times!!!

  4. Definite keeper! I did a 1.5-lb dough cycle in my bread machine, using canola oil instead of veg oil. I used my own homemade bread flour (vital wheat gluten AP flour) with regular sesame seeds and toasted wheat germ which added a nice dimension to the bread. Didn't do a second rise, just extracted the dough from the machine and shaped it into a nice big loaf on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Then I glazed the top with beaten egg and more sesame seeds, did just great for 30 minutes at 375. Will be making over and over again!!

  5. This is fantastic! I did the whole thing in the bread machine and it turned out beautifully. Very moist and flavorful. I sprinkled extra sesame seeds on the top after the last rise, just to make it a little prettier. :) I made ham and cheese sandwiches for DH's lunch. Slices very nicely for sandwiches. I'll be making this one again. Thanks for sharing.
