  1. Great Recipe! Made for a band bake sale. Followed as directed and turned out great! I made mine smaller by using 1/4 measuring scoop. No problem with the vanilla, just beated the filling for about five minutes, turned out nice and fluffy! The shells remind me of brownies! Ths is a must try!

  2. These are excellent whoopie pies! To maintain the pure white color of the filling, I used Wilton Clear Vanilla extract (4 tbsp. as stated in the recipe). Alone, the filling had a strong shortening taste to it, reminscent of the traditional Wilton buttercream frosting, but once it was with the shells, it was fine. I used a small cookie scoop to make smaller whoopies and baked them for 9 minutes. Came out great! Thanks for posting! (I'd love to find the recipe for the vanilla whoopie pies :D)

  3. I don't normally write reviews for things like this but this one is worth it this recipe is incredible I get compliments whenever I make it some people didn't even believe it was made from scratch!! I do recommend instead of using her filling recipe just to do a cream cheese filling because this recipe did not make nearly as enough filling as needed so I recommend just using another recipe for that specific area in the recipe but other than that it is absolutely incredible!!!

  4. This was THE whoopie pie recipe that I had been looking for!! Thank you for posting. I made these for a bake sale and they were the first sold-out item. I did have to skip on the filling though, just used regular icing, next time I'm going to try the filling I'm sure it will make them even better!

  5. Yes, these are really yummy, but for me the batter is not one I would make again. It has too much liquid in it and the result is a way too soft cookie that crumbles and falls apart and sticks to your fingers. It is a pain to fill them as they do not hold together well and i had to cut mine in half for a better presentation. I used the filling that has marshmallow creme and it really is delicious. I will surely make these pies again only use a different batter. 5 stars for the overall taste.
