  1. Weirdly enough, we all liked this. We just kept eating serving after serving, finally deciding that it was the many facets of flavor that drew us to it... Salty, tangy, bacon-y.... Anyway, it was good, and definitely helped to deplete the surplus of lettuce in our fridge. I think I may have to get my cholesterol checked out now though :)

  2. What an AWESOME way to use up a head of lettuce before it goes bad!!! I used sugar substitute, bacon bits and cider vinegar....Love it!!!!!

  3. I grew up on this. My mom always loved to make this and still does. Now I make it. The only difference is we use only green onions chopped, and we do use white vinegar. It is sooo good, I always eat wayyyyy to much.

  4. Simple to make. Superb to eat. Compliments any meal. Try leaf lettuce and / or spinach. Green (spring) onions are best, but red works well too if sliced very thin. Make sure to use cider vinegar (Not specified in recipe). A taste you can't get enough of.

  5. This is the best recipe. I always have cornbread with wilted lettuce.
