- 3 lbs apples, peeled, etc
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup cranberries
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 2 lemon slices, sliced thin
- 1⁄2 orange, juice of
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
directions
- Cook on stove top until cooked through.
- Puree with a blender, if desired.

I know I messed up this recipe as far as it being a Weight Watchers thing, but if I'm using cranberries, I'm also using some sugar! I did include 1/4 cup of granulated sugar AND instead of water, I substituted 3/4 cup of apple juice. I put everything into a heavy saucepan & brought it to a boil before turning the head down to simmer & covering the pan! Then I simmered for about 15 minutes, stirring a couple of times! After that, I turned the heat back up, took off the lid, & boiled for another 5 minutes! That done, I poured it all into a large bowl & mashed it a little with a hand-held potato masher! We like chunky applesauce, so that worked out just fine, & we thoroughly enjoyed the apple & cranberry combo! [Made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block recipe tag]
