Yellow Angel Food Cake

"Very old recipe from Darlene Kossmma. Made when they made angel food cakes I'm sure. This looks to be a very light cake."

  1. This recipe was pretty good, but honestly not as good as regular angel food cake. I was making a strawberry dessert that required angel food cake to be cut into pieces. I didn't have 12 egg whites, so made 1/2 recipe of regular and found this recipe and so halved it to use up the 6 egg yolks. It was a bit crumbly, but I did make it in a loaf pan, so it also fell a bit in the middle. For the salt, I assumed it was just a pinch. I cooked at 375 for 30 min (since that's what my regular angel food cake required) and it was a little too done, so would probably lower temp a bit. I liked the lemon flavor and it went great in our strawberry dessert. Made for Bargain Basement Tag Game.
