  1. Smells fantastic, tastes even better, I love the rich smoky aroma of this tea, and you can feel how good it is for you, incredibly comforting. I made this with rooibos tea, and I refrigerated after making it, (Step 8) since I'm the only one who drinks it, I simply warmed a cup at a time. Loved it. I drink my tea black with no sugar, my DH tried a little and said he would definitely drink it with honey, if he drank it, but not a tea lover! I'll make this again, lovely to keep me going over the weekend!! Thank you Kimke, lovely!

  2. My husband said this recipe is a kissing cousin to the version of Yogi Tea he had in San Francisco. I had to hide some to keep him from drinking it all the first night I made it. I made it in a crock pot. I put all the spices in on high for 3 hours. (only used 4 cinnamon sticks) added the tea and simmered on low for 8 hours. I didn't strain it instead I dipped out the large pieces of spice so my version is "thicker." Due to cardiac issues I mix it half milk and half tea. I am allergic to bees and can't use honey so we use brown sugar. This tea is awesome, the second batch is in the crock pot as I review. I keeps well in a glass container in the frig.<br/>This tea has become my daily treat. I have discovered its just as yummy cold, in fact I prefer it that way.

  3. This rating is based on my changes, few but perhaps important. I kept everything the same except, being the unpatient person I can be, I only boiled for 5 minutes and simmered for 30 minutes. I then tossed in two tablespoons of loose India Black tea and steeped it for five minutes.

  4. I love this tea. I warm it with some milk and a bit of honey and it's almost like a chai tea but better. It smells so good. Thank you for sharing. Susan

I live in Omaha NE and am an audiologist at Boys Town National Research Hospital. I love to cook, as does my husband Michael. In the summer, we have a large garden and try to use alot of fresh fruits/veggies in our cooking. We have a 5 year old daughter, Kate and almost 2 year old son Sam and enjoy introducing them to new foods. One of their favorites is fresh pesto smeared on crackers!
