Yummy 7 Layer Salad

"Quick Easy and if your lucky enough (left overs are the best)! Make sure to slice the red onion super super thin (I use the mandolin). Oh!!!! Print the recipe you'll be asked for it. This doesn't get soggy so you can make the day before. This is great for pot lucks. Just layer all in a foil pan. If vegetarian you can use imitation bacon made of soy, you can change the fillings to anything you enjoy but I do suggest keeping the iceberg you can use romaine successfully and the peas and celery are a must in this recipe."

  1. Terrific in every way! My wife made this in the morning for an extended family dinner later that day. Cooled down wonderfully in the reffer, and made us all think of summer when we shared it at dinner. Two slight changes my wife made to this recipe: used Romaine lettuce in place of Iceberg; and a pound of bacon in place of the 1/2 lb suggested. Tasty.

  2. I've made this recipe a few times now and it turned out great every times. I made just a few adjustments - exchanged a can of sliced water chestnuts, coarsely chopped for the cucumber and omitted the hard boiled egg. The seasoned salt really makes the dressing, although I cut back a bit since 2t. is pretty salty. I also always use Hellman's mayo w/olive oil.

  3. OMG. This was so easy to make. I used my mandolin for all the veggies. I thought the dressing tasted a little funny as I made it, but once I had it WITH the salad....WOW. No one could stop eating this and I was more than happy to take what little leftovers of it we had, home. I made it about 24 hours ago, and just had another bowl and was happy to find out that it really WASN'T soggy and just as good! Definitely a keeper!! THANK YOU for submitting this!

  4. Love this layered salad! Each layer goes so well together. Great way to get more veggies into your kids!

  5. Very good salad! I used romain lettuce b/c it is a lot cheaper where I live. Turned out to be too much dressing for us though, so I will use less next time. Will also use green onion instead of red. Thanks so much for a great recipe!

  4. This ia a good salad but when i make it i use bacon bits instead of regular bacon and for the dressing i use hellmans mayo and mix lemon juice, and sugar, also fresh dill in it and omit the hard boiled everyone always loves it!

  5. I added some thinly diced green and red sweet pepper and also some small diced smoked turkey along with small pieces of cooked bacon. I grated the hardboiled eggs to go on top. I used shredded mozzarella cheese. I also used red onion instead of scallions. I guess I had 10 layers.I did use less dressing and a very large oval glass bowl. Beautiful and great tasting! Thanks. I served with marinated salmon steaks.
