  1. Crust: Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  3. Add remaining crust ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Bake in 15 x 10 x 1-in.
  5. jelly roll pan for 20 minutes at 375.
  6. Filling: Combine sweetened milk and coconut.
  7. Spread over baked crust.
  8. Broil until lightly browned.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Frosting: Bring to rolling boil milk, sugar and shortening, stirring constantly.
  11. Remove from heat.
  12. Stir in chocolate chips.
  13. Continue to stir until mixture reaches spreading consistency.
