  1. In a medium pot, cook onion, garlic, ginger, and spice in a small amount of oil until the onion starts to brown.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until brown stirring frequently so there are no big chunks.
  3. Add celery,carrot,parsley and water. Bring to a boil.
  4. Crumble the beef cubes into the boiling pot and stir well.
  5. Rinse the navy beans well and add to pot.
  6. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
