• Preheat oven to 350.

  • Add dried fruit.
  • Spread on wax paper to cool.

  1. This recipe is genius! The applesauce gives this granola a really nice consistency. I keep the snack tubs of applesauce on hand to use in recipes like this. Because I am trying to remove sugar from my diet, I used 1 packet of stevia instead of the brown sugar, and it was sweet enough for me with the applesauce and honey. This has all my favorite things in it. Thank you Motivated Mama for a great granola; especially good in parfaits. Next time I may use maple syrup or agave syrup instead of honey. p.s. watch carefully, as it burns easily/I lowered the heat to 300 after 10 minutes.

  2. I made a half batch of this the other night to use as a healthy, low sodium snack. It was very easy to throw together and the flavor is good. Definitely accomplishes what I was looking for. I plan on making more again in the future. Thanks so much for posting!!!!

  3. WOW! This stuff is heavenly :) I can't stop eating it! I halved the recipe and came out with about 2 1/2 cups (even though it's more like 1 cup now...). I had to sub coconut for the nuts (allergy), and it toasted nicely. I use it for spinkling on my cereal topped with applesauce, and it is scrumptious. A very easy to make treat. Thanks for posting!

  4. Very yummy! I made this yesterday, and had it for breakfast this morning, with some plain yoghurt. I like that it made such a large batch, and it seems like something that will keep well in an airtight container (got to love Tupperware! lol). This is the first time i have made granola myself, and I am very pleased with the result! Thanks for posting! [Made for Fall 08 Pick-A-Chef]

  5. As I stated in a previous review, I am on the look-out for HEALTHY granola as some if not most are loaded with calories and fat. This one is certainly one that caught my eye because of the healthy ingredients you have listed. I subbed Splenda brown sugar iin place of the normal kind, but that was the only deviance I made from your recipe. Oh, and I baked it an additional 10 minutes as I"ve found with most granolas I make they require an hour of baking. I keep mine in big zip-lock baggies in the freezer and pull out the desired amount as needed. That way I always have some on hand and it doesn't go bad. I have this recipe posted as one I knew I had to try in TOTM for August. Granola, Healthy or Not? I'm glad I made this as I know I will be going back for repeats.

PLEASE RATE MY RECIPES!! :) My husband and I have been happily married for six years and we have two amazing children! I stay home with our son and daughter and stay busy in with local mom's groups and activities. I am a certified childbirth educator (bradleybirth.com) and also teach and supervise the Aqua Aerobic department at one of our local gyms. I am somewhat of a health nut/hippee and distribute whole food suppliments (morganlovesjuiceplus.com), but I love to bake and to share my baked goods. There is no better compliment than when some one takes a bite of my very own Chocolate Chip Cookies and says they are the best they've ever tasted! (Sorry, it's a secret recipe!) I would love to open my own bakery someday... I like to cook for my family too, and have become exceptionally motivated since our son was born. I have been finding myself getting swept away reading cookbooks (while the kids are sleeping). :) I am really enjoying trying new recipes (and so is my husband) and I think I am becomming a "Foodie" so Recipezaar is simply heaven for me! | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/business/dashboard/" title="Miracles in the Making Childbirth Education and Support!" target="_TOP" style="font-family: "lucida grande",tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; color: #3B5998; text-decoration: none;">Miracles in the Making Childbirth Education and Support
