  1. This is a litte gem of a recipe. I made this the other night for supper. It was incredibly quick and easy. I increased the chili powder to 1 tablespoon. My family thought it was very good. I love chili beans and could really eat them out of the can. They really add to the flavor. Thanks Inez ;)

  2. This was a great quick and easy supper for us. I adjusted things just a little for my family's taste. I added about 1 t. minced garlic to brown with the meat. I used 1 T. chili powder and 1 t. pepper. I was in and out of the kitchen fast and on to better things. Thanks Inez.

  3. made this last night and it was ok. the recipe had a good taste to it, but it wasn't very "zesty" or spicy. i followed the recipe exactly - there was no zip to it. then i decided to add more spices trying to liven it up, but no luck. i think i missed something here....i might try it once more just to see if maybe i made a mistake somewhere. maybe i had some dead spices??? lol

  4. This was easy & fast to make. I did not have chile beans so used a can of kidney beans. So keeping that in mind folks, I which there was a bit more flavor to this dish. I did need to add about 1/2 cup of water. I will make again with CHILE BEANS, their on my shopping list now.

  5. I made this meal with a few variations to suit my taste, and it turned out wonderful.I used hot chili beans(Ilike it spicy),and istead of salsa,I used medium picante sauce. Also, I added about a half of a cup brown sugar, and that made all the difference!! For dinner, I served it with Chichi's sweet corn cakes(you can find the packets at any grocery store with the mexican food). The sweet and spicy really went togeather well. The next day I took it to work for lunch, put some chedder cheese on top, and ate it as a dip with some corn chips. It was different, but also very good. Ithink it would be good with flour tortillas too!! Thank you for this wonderful recipe,Carrie

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
