Hello people! What to say about me... I love to cook and bake. My family is Punjabi, so I don't like going to many Indian restaurants when I can make what they make better :-) Although, there is definitely something to be said for not having to cook. But that's what moms and aunties are for, right? So I guess more about me. I studied biology in undergrad, now I'm in my first year of medical school at the same university! It's SO interesting, though makes me short on time. But I love to cook so make sure I get some healthy food made on the weekends, or even when I come home from a long day. I like to make Indian veg food, different types of pastas, and, when in doubt, COOKIE DOUGH! (Yeah, excellent dinner...ask your doctor what he/she used to eat in med school, you may be surprised.) Any advice for me? I'm very open to it. Not married yet, but have until next summer until my family helps me and "starts looking." If you know a nice Punjabi guy, age 25-27, who is preferably not a doctor, and DEFINITELY does not own his own business (because I want to see him once in a while), and who already is permanently in the US, and/or wants to go back to India after a few years, and CAN COOK--because I need a break sometimes too--, let me know, will ya? ;-) OH I almost forgot the best stuff: -I love kids, even when they're screaming. -My parents raised me and my brother extremely well. We're very in-touch with our culture, and they made sure we are polite and well-mannered and interested in many things other than math and science. In other words, my kids will NOT be brats. They will sit down and put only what they will eat on their plates, say "please" and "thank-you", call elders by their last names or titles, learn to write thank-you notes and SNAIL MAIL them (believe it or not, IMs are not meant for formal communication), respect their books and school supplies, work for some spending money, and not expect "rewards" for helping around the house :-) -Shahrukh Khan is my favorite actor. Kajol, Konkona Sen Sharma, Madhuri and Juhi are my favorite actresses. Google them! You'll get hooked onto Hindi films! -My favorite sites are RecipeZaar (number one, of course), some vegan sites and blogs, and www.dancemarathon.org (go there! donate! help the cancer kids! I'm finally dancing this year!)
