@Smiling Lady
I grew up in Starkville, MS, many years ago. My mother and I (while she was living) stayed in the kitchen, it seems. (After all, we were cooking for six persons.)Daddy and my three brothers were usually outside tending to our 4-H cows. Mother was known in our southern college town for being a great cook. I have had friends who have suggested that I open a restaurant, but I prefer not to go that route. I have collected recipes all of my life. I have a catering friend who has lost some of her recipes and has asked me to replace those she gave me--which I was happy to do. My husband is an enginer who has been forced to work in the kitchen because I had a stroke in 1998. I am extremely limited in what I can do--especially in the way of cooking. But my husband has found that he likes to cook! Our one son who is now grown started cooking when he was two years old, because I stood him in the chair and let him scramble the eggs. He is now a great cook in his own right. He is especially good in making breads and homemade rolls. (Just ask his friends!) His favorite rolls to make are ones which are made from a recipe I found in a magazine and adapted to our tastes. I don't even remember where the recipe originated.
