Love to cook, Love to garden, Love to fish, Love the out of doors, Love family and friends, Love entertaining, Love Holidays, Love to travel. We have chickens, doves, rabbits, fruit trees, flowers, berries, vegetables. When I can look down on my plate and see something I caught, raised, grew, and of course prepared,,, well it doesn't get much better than that. Our house is the Holiday house where the whole family gathers, our folks, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and now the grandbabies. We prepare a sit down for 25+ with all the trimmings. I am proud to say my nieces and nephews love coming to Aunt Kathy’s for Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is reserved for my husband and I and the left-overs! The kids will show up days early to help with cookie baking. We live in an old Log Lodge which allows space for everybody. We have been working on the house and grounds for some time. The kitchen is what used to be the wet bar for the lodge and the living room was the dance hall. We have yet to remodel the kitchen but I make due. The kitchen was in the basement and allowed for game processing. The grounds include a walk in freezer, walk in refrigerator, smoke house and several other outbuildings. We use it all for storage. We hope to someday return it all to its original glory. I would rather stay home and eat my own home cooked food than go out. When we do go out someplace very exclusive, I pick apart the dish to see what it is made with and repeat it at home. I came up with a 9 layer chocolate cake recipe to compete with a restaurants' 7 layer chocolate cake that my husband went ga ga over. Mine won! LOL
