A little about me I'm a former Air Force Brat, and married to a PK. We have been married since July 2007 and have no children yet. We have a cat named Jack. I am learning how to be better at meal planning, bargain shopping and cooking delicious, healthy meals that won't break a newlywed's budget! I am still learning, so I'm more likely to sign on to look up others' recipes instead of post my own for now! My favorite season is fall and my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. My favorite things to cook My husband Ryan and I like to cook and eat a lot of Mexican dishes, since those are usually easily adapted to our mostly-vegetarian lifestyle. I also like preparing homemade pizza (never the same way twice!) and baking bread, although I don't bake bread as often as I'd like to. My favorite family cooking traditions We have a growing tradition that Ryan makes big breakfasts on weekend mornings. He has made all kinds of pancakes, but his specialty is crepes. I love Saturday mornings! My cooking triumphs To date, my biggest victory has been pulling off an Indian food feast, and it only took me five hot hours in the kitchen over a stove heated to the max to do it! I made chicken tikka masala, naan, and mango lassi, and we watched Monsoon Wedding to go with our dinner. Everything was delicious! My cooking tragedies My attempt at black eyed peas and ham for New Year's 2008 was pretty bad, but maybe it still brought us good luck. :)
