Born and raised in Hawaii and have travelled a lot, mostly Europe and Asia. My favorite cookbooks are: Thoughts for Festive Food, anything by Ina Garten or Mark Bittman. I also in lived in North Carolina for 18 years and am totally hooked on Southern cooking and Eastern North Carolina barbecue. When I was younger I was really into French haute cuisine, now I prefer simple foods perfectly seasoned and prepared.
