I learned to cook growing up on the ranch. I stood on a stool to make lunch for the rest of my family who were working in the fields. By that time I had already learned much by standing in much the same spot watching my mother and grandmother prepare meals. I love cooking and recipes. I also love eating, (unfortunately). I have raised two boys, cooking most meals from scratch and everyone sitting around the table for every meal. Nothing centers a family more, big or small. Now I cook to entice them home for a visit or to entertain friends -- more and more I find myself challenged to find good low-cal recipes or ways of cooking more healthy without sacraficing taste.
