My Mom is a great cook and I learned to cook by sitting on the counter top as a child and watching her. Became a cookie "expert" as a teenager and tackled dinner courses in my early 20's. I'm an avid reader and love to read cookbooks, recipe websites and mysteries! My husband tends to get a little frustrated with me because I'm always tampering with new recipes - adding a little of this and a little of that. He jokes, "That was great - guess you'll never be able to make it again!" I doubt I'll ever be able to post an original recipe because I very seldom measure ingredients when I'm cooking. I have 3 children and my husband and I both work in a corporate environment. Needless to say, I don't have much time left to spend in the kitchen. These days I'm all about healthy, great tasting but fast! I hope to retire early and the first thing on my agenda would be to take gourmet cooking classes. I love to entertain and hope to eventually do this more often.
