After Venison Success, Arby’s Returns with a Duck Sandwich

Wabbit season? No, duck season!

The meatiest meat chain of them all—Arby’s—is launching a new, limited-edition menu item to coincide with open season for fowl: a duck breast sandwich.

If you like the sound of duck breast cooked sous vide then seared, before being topped with crispy onions and a smoked cherry sauce, then you might be interested in tracking down one of these meatwiches.

The sandwich will be available beginning October 20th, but only in “close proximity to actual duck hunting locations.” While they’ll be sold in these areas (see below for a full list), they certainly won’t have been shot by the guy next door, because buying and selling wild game is illegal in the U.S. Instead, the duck will be sourced from a large supplier of farmed ducks.

According to a press release, Arby’s has partnered with Ducks Unlimited—an organization that works to conserve and restore wetlands—as part of the promotion.

The duck sandwich comes on the heels of Arby’s success with its venison sandwich, which was released last year to the satisfaction of deer hunters.
