DIY Starbucks Rainbow Drinks
Put the rainbow in your cup with these colorful, refreshing DIY tea and juice drinks.
You’ve seen them in your newsfeed: these rainbow drinks are the new “it” thing at the coffee counter. But who wants to sit their bum down on a hot car seat and spend their hard-earned cash on something they could easily make at home and sip in their backyard? Here’s how to make your own versions of these tasty and Instagram-friendly refreshments:
Pink Drink
This fruity pink drink gets its vibrant color from hibiscus tea, pomegranate juice and fresh strawberries. To make it, we combined 2 ounces of hibiscus tea, 2 ounces of pomegranate juice and 4 ounces of coconut milk, then stirred the mixture with ice. Throw some sliced strawberries on top and you’ve painted the first stroke of your rainbow masterpiece.
Purple Drink
Go deep with purple. Mix together 2/3 cup of tropical orange tea, 1/3 cup of unsweetened soy milk, 1.5 tbsp simple syrup (or to taste) and a dash of vanilla extract over ice. Garnish with blackberries (if you have time, try macerating them first!).
Green Drink
Matcha meets its rainbow match. Combine 2/3 cup coconut milk with 3/4 cup black tea, 3 tsp matcha powder, 1.5 tbsp simple syrup (or to taste) and a dash of vanilla extract over ice and stir. Garnish with mint.
Orange Drink
Mirror, mirror on the wall, which is the juiciest of them all? To make this tropical golden treat, mix 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 cup mango juice, 1 scoop of vanilla whey powder (or a few dashes of vanilla extract) and a splash of coconut milk over ice.
