A.1 Meatloaf

"My family really doesn't like meatloaf much, but this recipe is one they like! The A.1 sauce gives it a little zing and it has a good texture."

  1. I 86'ed the parsley flakes and added about half that amount of rosemary. Doesn't rosemary go SO well with any kinda red meat? I shoved the meat mixture into the pan, then covered the top with Panko. I'm waiting to use the remaining half cup sauce mixture. We'll see how it turns out.

  2. You know the meatloaf is awesome when you realize almost halfway through cooking time that you forgot to mix in half of the sauce :D it was my first meatloaf ever and I was never really a fan but this was so good! Will be making it really soon again with the sauce! I also added garlic, about 2 tsp and I used a garlic press. I also added more A1 and made extra sauce for dipping!

  3. My DMIL makes a similar sauce for her meatloaf so I tagged this for my DH. I used Panko bread crumbs, ground round, and did add some minced garlic. Doubled the sauce ingredients and like the other reviewer added more A-1 sauce. Spread a generous amount on top of the meatloaf before baking and when ready to eat I warmed the remaining sauce so DH could dip his meatloaf. Great tasting and held together well, will be making this again! Made for my adopted baby RuthlessWr and Pick A Chef 2012.

  4. This is a geat meatloaf. Usually my kids don't like meatloaf, but they eat this up. I use a little more A.1. about 1/4th cup. And of course, some garlic. (About 2 tsp)

  1. Added 2 tsp of pressed garlic, 1/4 cup A1, 2 tbsp Italian seasoning instead of just parsley

I currently live in Alabma, but have lived many places, including 4 years in Brazil. I love to travel and learn about languages and cultures around the world. I have a husband and two teenaged daughters and we live a very active family life. I work full time as a programmer, so between that and sports and plays and church, I don't have a lot of time to cook. For years I just threw whatever on the table, but lately I've become more aware of what I eat and how I prepare it. I'm trying to stay away from processed foods and cook more from scratch. I've discovered that I love it!
