  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Blend apple pie filling, eggs, apple pie spice and cloves until smooth.
  • Place in large bowl.
  • Add cake mix.
  • Beat for 4 minutes.
  • Stir in nuts and raisins.
  • Pour into a 13 x 9 pan that has been greased and floured or sprayed with Baker's Joy.
  • Bake for 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out dry.
  • Cool on rack.
  • Frost when cool using either of the above recipes.
  • Or dust with confectioners sugar.
  • Frosting: For either method: Combine all ingredients.
  • Beat until creamy and spreadable consistency.

  2. A very good cake, however I had to take away a star as it was not the A&P Spanish bar cake I remember. Being lighter in color and texture. Still a good cake. I blended my own apple pie spice. Also the frosting is very good and could be used on any spice cake. I used the scratch version.
