  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs - one at a time and beat well.
  3. Add the warm water and almond essence.
  4. Add sifted flour and baking powder.
  5. Stir well to make a mixture that will spread evenly in 20cm diameter tin.
  6. Sprinke with slithered almonds.
  7. Arrange sliced plums on top.
  8. Sprinkle with sugar.
  9. Bake in the oven for approx 20 minutes at 160'C.
