  1. Based on the reviews indicating the brownie was too cake-like, I used a box mix as directed with the topping for this recipe. The cream cheese topping did not sink, but ended up more like it's own layer. Additionally, the bake time was a bit longer (like double), but they were very good. Ialso used only half the chips & that was plenty because it was quite sweet already with the 2 layers. Thanks for sharing!

  2. It wasn't as moist as I thought it would be. The cream cheese portion kind of sank and created craters on the brownie. It really is more of a cake-like brownie; I'm looking for something more fudge-like.

  3. I know why they won at the fair!! These are incredible! Very moist, both the cake and the cheesecake part. Good "as is" or topped with a scoop of ice cream. ;) My only 'criticism' would be with the name. We all thought it was more like a cake than a brownie. I wish I had known this before because when I make brownies, I always mix them by hand. I think these should be mixed with a mixer, or at least a whisk since the batter is very thin and was full of lumps when mixing it by hand. However, it turned out delicious and that's all that matters, right?? :) Thanks philocrates for sharing!
