Directions

  1. Cream 1/2 cup of the butter and granulated sugar well.
  2. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. Add the wafer crumbs and coconut.
  4. Mix all well.
  5. Pat into a 10 x 15 inch cookie sheet.
  6. Bake 325 for 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. Combine remaining ingredients brown sugar, last 1/2 cup butter, and the pecans in a saucepot.
  8. Mix well, stirring, and boil for three minutes.
  9. Pour over the bars while warm and spread evenly.
  10. Place under broiler about four inches below, and broil until bubbly.
  11. Remove.
  12. Cut into 50 bars.
