“What to do with 3 Macintosh apples? That was the question. This recipe is the answer. It's quick, simple and comforting. It's a combination of many recipes. Warning: When taken out of the oven - it was bubbling at the top of the 1 quart casserole. It didn't overflow - but it wanted to. If you use a larger casserole - you may want to increase ingredients.”

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Pre-Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix in a saucepan the cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, orange juice and 1/2 cup water.
  3. Add apples to the mixture, stir, and cook over low heat (stirring occasionally) for approximately 6 minutes (until liquid thickens and apples just begin to soften).
  4. Stir in walnuts and raisins (if desired) and pour into a 1 quart casserole.
  5. Mix Bisquick and shredded cheese together.
  6. Add 4 tablespoons water and mix well.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the Bisquick mixture on top of apple mixture- then spread it to mostly cover the apple mixture.
  8. Bake until top is lightly browned- about 28 minutes.
  9. Serve as is (or top with ice cream or cream).
