5 dozen cookies
ingredients
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 6 cups flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 cups diced apples
- 2 cups nuts
- 2 cups raisins
directions
- Cream together sugars and shortening.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in dry ingredients alternately with sour cream.
- Fold in apples, nuts, and raisins.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325° about 8-10 minutes or until light brown.

This is a great recipe, easy, and healthy - I switched it up a bit, used butterscotch chips instead of raisins. Soft cookies, they are great to freeze a dozen for later. AND I cut the recipe in half using recipezaar's conversion link - I still got 4 dozen cookies. Anyways, thank you Charlotte J., for this recipe!!
