Questions & Replies

  1. The recipe for apple pie with heavy cream calls for 2 pie shells, but in the directions it says to pour into pie shell, singular. Is it one or two pies?

  1. I made my own pie crust instead of using the readymade ones the recipe calls for. The recipe is very rich. It is a delicious pie. I have made the recipe twice in the past week and the first time I made it, everything turned out fine. But oddly, the second time I made it; the apples did not cook long enough. I followed the directions exactly both times, strange huh? The pie was fantastic though.

  2. I like the simplicity and especially the taste- more like the real pies I experienced in childhood over 50 years ago. I also like the no eggs- safer on picnics. I adjusted the recipe to 8 cups apples total and the servings to 12 total. Thanks.
