Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 34 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar apricot jam

Directions

  1. Cream butter with sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Add egg yolk and mix well.
  3. Stir in flour.
  4. Add walnuts blend well.
  5. (dough will be soft).
  6. Divide dough in half.
  7. Spread one half of dough evenly into a 9x9 pan.
  8. Cover with jam.
  9. Drop remaining dough by spoonfulls over jam, spreading carefully to edges with a knife.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes till top is golden.
  11. Let cool slighly before cutting into squares.
