ingredients
- 1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 1⁄2 cup bacon bits (i prefer the hormel brand)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
directions
- Mix all ingredients and enjoy.
- Note as usual with dips this is better made ahead so the flavors can marry.

This dip is fantastic! I made this to take to a potluck but couldn't help myself from trying it after a few hours in the fridge. The salt from the bacon bits paired with the creaminess of the sour cream and cheddar is a perfect combination. You MUST use Hormel bacon bits with this for an authentic bacon flavor. Thanks for sharing this awesome dip recipe, MsSally! It went directly into my "Tried and True" cookbook and is one I will make over and over again! Edit: Whenever there is a potluck party amongst our friends, they always ask, "Are you bringing that Bacon Dip?" It's definitely a favorite! -
simple and delicious, I added in some fresh garlic and cayenne pepper and used cooked finely crumbled bacon, I will serve on Sunday for the Super Bowl, thanks for sharing MsSally

The texture of this dip is great. However, the sour cream dilutes the ranch dressing, so it doesn't have that wonderful ranch dressing taste as much as it should. I think next time I'll add a packet of dried ranch dressing or dip seasoning. I will make this again, but with the extra seasoning. -
I made this for a football get together and it was great. I used oscar meyer bacon pieces instead of bits. Thanks for the recipe!

This was really good and easy to make. We used veggies to dip. Everyone enjoyed it. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I too prefer Hormel bacon bits!

Wonderful! Made with my last precious packet of Ranch Dip, sent by a friend in the USA, and made exactly as stated. We had these for dipping and snacking with drinks for friends. A great whizz together recipe, one of the best Ranch dressing combinations I have made - the cheddar and bacon makes it. I did not have sour cream so used creme fraiche instead. Thanks MsSally, FT:-)

I can't thank each of you personally although I try. <br /><br />I Live in central Virginia, 5 miles from where I grew up, w/ my Husband of 17 years and my beautiful daughter. She is 10 and is the joy of my life. We waited for a long time to be blessed with a child and it is the best thing I've ever done. Be a mother. <br /><br />I love to cook. We eat very healthy, after a life altering experience at 31 I've been on a journey to be healthy and lose weight. I've lost 50 lbs and have kept most all of it off for the last 9 years. There are always fluxs, durring stressful times, but I've mananged to keep most of the weight off. My best advice to anyone trying to lose weight is to remember that it didn't get there overnight and it won't come off overnight. I've never said I was on a diet. It is a lifestyle.</p>
<p>When Zaar first changed to Food I took a short hiatus. I was going thru a very hard time in life and was completely unmotivated to do anything and thus gave up my hosting duties on Holiday Tag. But now with a new perspective I'm hoping to get back to cooking and tagging.</p>
