  1. I made these in my new donut maker (looks like a waffle iron). These have been my favorite plain recipe so far. I always sub buttermilk with plain yogurt and milk, so for this I used 1/2 c milk and 1/4 c plain yogurt. Nutmeg is subtle and adds a nice flavor. I have also cut the recipe in half so I am not making so many temptations.

  2. these came out perfect. added 1 tsp vanilla. i cooked at 400 in convection oven and still had to cook for 11 min. Either way, the donuts are light on the top, edges just start to turn brown. Thats OK. I turn them over and decorate the other side. Or dust with cinnamon sugar (my personal fav). If doing with cin/sug, first baste donut with some melted butter before putting the top upside down in a bowl of sugar. If you follow directions and fill donut cups 3/4 way full, you will indeed get 12 donuts. When cooking with convection ON = rule of thumb is decrease temp for 25 degrees.

  3. Made these with my daughter for brunch. What a sweet and simple recipe. Topped with a vanilla icing and sprinkles of her choice.

  5. Nice recipe. I added 2 tsp of vanilla extract, and may add some almond or orange to the mix the next time I make these. Huge hit with the family!

I don't really like to cook that much, but I love to bake. My favorite thing to do is bake yummy homemade cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and more. I enjoy eating bake goods as much as making them! I have a sweet Miniature Schnazer named Oliver that we adopted from the animal shelter. I like to collect old cookbooks, the oldest one I have is from 1913. My favorite magazines are Bon Appitite and Martha Stewart's Every Day Food. I just became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Around my house i'm known as the pissed off baker because when I bake you better stay out of the kitchen!!!
